Video Poker Rules
Video poker is a great marriage between the fun of slots and the skill of poker. Once a player understands the hand ranks then video poker is one of the quickest and most fun games in the casino.
Card Ranks
Cards are rank from highest to lowest:
Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, Ace
Hand Ranks
Hands are ranked from best (highest scoring), to worst (no score):
Royal Flush:
It means that you have 5 consecutive cards, all of the same suit, the 1st card being 10 and the last card being an ace. Your 5- card consists of Ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all of the same suit.
Straight Flush:
You have 5 consecutive cards, all of the same suit like having Three of Clubs, Four of Clubs, Five of Clubs, Six of Clubs and Seven of Clubs.
Four of a Kind:
You have four cards of the same value but of different suits.
Full House:
Your card contains three of a kind and a pair at the same time.
Flush:
You have 5 non-consecutive cards of the same suit.
Straight:
All of your five cards are consecutive. Cards are not of the same suit like having Three of Clubs, Four of Spades, Five of Clubs, Six of Diamonds, and Seven of Hearts.
Three of a Kind:
You have three cards of the same value.
Two Pair:
You have 2 sets of pairs of the same card value.
Pair:
You have two cards in your hand that are the same value. And they must be Jacks or better because anything lower is not considered to be a winning hand.
Objective
The video poker machine deals a five card hand. The player’s only objective is to get the best-ranking hand since the game is played on a machine. By activating the appropriate button underneath every card, the player decides to keep or throw away as many cards as he likes. Simply press on "deal/draw" after selecting the card(s) you want to hold or discard. Of course, the cards you didn’t want to hold are replaced with new cards. You will be paid if the new hand contains a winning combination. When finish playing, simply hit cash out.
